1. International Student Exchange
Japan Program at Chiba(J-PAC)

Chiba University provides three academic programs, known as J-PAC for students from academic institutions with which Chiba University has university level student exchange agreements.

  1. Undergraduate Programs
  2. (1) Japanese studies program (Program 1)
    (2) Undergraduate exchange Program (Program2)
  3. Graduate Exchange Program (Program3)

HOW TO APPLY

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in an institution of higher education that has concluded an inter-university agreement with Chiba University. If the inter-university student exchange agreement is also concluded, it should allow credit transfer and waiver of tuition and fees for application and registration. The applicant must have completed at least one year of undergraduate course work at the time of application. Also, students accepted into the program must agree to return to their home institution upon completion of the exchange program.
The selection of participants will be made by referees at Chiba University on the basis of the student’s academic record, a personal statement of purpose and two recommendation letters from his/her current teachers. Students should send completed applications to Chiba University through the student’s home institution to be received by March 10, for admission to the program beginning in October.

2. International Student Exchange
Excellent International Student Scholarship for Chiba University Graduate Programs

1. Objective

Chiba University promotes leading edge research activities such as Global COE and other focused projects on education and research by providing Excellent International Student Scholarship to international students who present outstanding academics at Chiba University or at universities collaborating on the specific programs.

2. Eligibility criteria

Applicants must satisfy all conditions below at the time of application.

  1. admitted (or to be admitted) as a graduate student of Chiba University to a program
  2. obtain recommendation from a graduate school which an applicant is admitted (or to be admitted) to, and must not receive other scholarships of any kind for a period acquiring this scholarship
  3. admitted (or to be admitted) to Chiba University as a privately financed international student with the student visa status
  4. present excellent academic standings and personalities need financial support in deed

3. International Student Exchange
Graduate Partnership Program at Chiba University

1. Objective

Chiba University promotes leading edge research activities by providing financial support to international students from academic institutions with a university-level or a faculty level exchange agreement who present outstanding academics at Chiba University or at home universities.

2. Eligibility criteria

Applicants must satisfy all conditions below at the time of application.

  1. Admitted (or to be admitted) as a degree seeking student and can be recommended by a graduate school of Chiba University which an applicant is (or is to be) admitted to
  2. Apply within two years after the completion of an undergraduate degree or within three years after the completion of a master’s course with recommendation from a home university, and must have completed an undergraduate degree or a master’s course with a distinguished academic performance
  3. Admitted (or to be admitted) to Chiba University as a privately financed international student with the student visa status
  4. Present excellent academic standings and personalities and need financial support in deed
