The Safety and Health Organization was founded in 2004 unifying Health Sciences Center and Toxic Waste Treatment Plant, Chiba University, with aims to improve educational/research environments and to promote student/staff health. The organization is consisted of three divisions; Environmental Safety, Occupational Health, and Student Health. The staff in each division provide medical services, counseling and environmental safety consultations, and are also responsible for educating of undergraduate/graduate course students.

Division of Environmental Safety

 ・Disposal of poisonous waste generated by research and educational activities
 ・Promotion of safe and environmentally friendly research and educational environments
 ・Management of Chiba University Chemical Registration Information System

Division of Occupational Health and Division of Student Health

  ・Regular annual physical check-ups
  ・Specific medical examinations for workers dealing with toxic substances
  ・Clinical services, including examinations, diagnosis and treatments
  ・Psychological and psychiatric interviews, counseling and treatments
  ・Vaccinations
