The Graduate School of Nursing is dedicated to the advancement of the scientific foundation of nursing practice and education through generation and development of nursing knowledge base. The School is proud of its contribution to shape and direct nursing practice and education in Japan.
The School offers three programs leading to the degree of Master of Nursing Science or Doctor of Nursing Science: (a) the Master of Science Program in Nursing, (b) the Doctor of Science Program in Nursing, and (c) the Master of Science Program in Nursing Systems Management. The Master of Science Program in Nursing is designed to prepare students for roles in advanced nursing practice in a selected specialty area, while providing them with skills essential to conducting nursing research. The Doctor of Science Program in Nursing prepares nurse scientists capable of responding to the health concerns of society and advancing the scientific foundation of nursing practice and education through research and scholarly activity. The Master of Science Program in Nursing Systems Management is a three-year program and offers unique courses for nurse administrators to develop their research competencies while maintaining their current positions in healthcare settings. The program is aims to prepare nurse administrators who will generate new social values through advanced problem-solving skills and innovative actions.

Admission Policy
Chiba University Graduate School of Nursing aims to systematically teach and research fundamental theories that provide a scientifi c basis for various activities in nursing practice and their applications, and to train nurse scientists capable of independently advancing research and development of ways to support nursing that facilitates the maintenance of citizens’ health and well-being. Accordingly, we seek to admit students with a strong desire to assume a holistic perspective and engage in research and practice based on nursing science on the basis of an adequate foundation of academic ability.
