Invitation of Applications for Tenure-Track Positions
at Chiba University 2010
Chiba University has established the "Chiba University Young Research-Oriented Faculty Member Development Program in Natural Science Areas" in 2008, a program supported by Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
In FY2008, a total of ten researchers at Graduate School of Medicine, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Science, Graduate School of Horticulture and Graduate School of Engineering, in FY 2009, one researcher at Graduate School of Science, and in FY 2010, one researcher at Graduate School of Advanced Integration Sciences were appointed at the special tenure-track positions through international recruitment.
We are inviting applications for a special tenure-track position (at the rank of Associate Professor) in the research area specified below for a 5-year term, ending March, 2015. We are recruiting a young researcher who has all the qualities necessary to become a future leader in bioscience areas. Both research and comprehensive leadership abilities (planning skills, organizational skills, motivation, analytical skills, etc.) will be evaluated during selection.
Appointees will be provided with laboratory space, startup budget, and research funding as well as funding to hire support staff (a postdoctoral fellow). They are, in principle, exempt from various committee and administrative work, but are encouraged to take part in educational activities at the graduate level.
