at Chiba University 2012
Chiba University has established the "Chiba University Young Research-Oriented Faculty Member Development Program in Natural Science Areas" in 2008, a program supported by Special Coordination Funds for Promoting Science and Technology from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
To date, a total of fifteen researchers were appointed at the special tenure-track positions in Chiba University through international recruitment.
We are inviting applications for a special tenure-track position (at the rank of Associate Professor) in the research area specified below for a 5-year term, ending March, 2017.We are recruiting a young researcher who has all the qualities necessary to become a future leader in the area of environmental remote sensing. Both research and comprehensive leadership abilities (planning skills, organizational skills, motivation, analytical skills, etc.) will be evaluated during selection.
An appointee will be provided with startup budget, and research funding as well as funding to hire a support staff. They are, in principle, exempt from various committee and administrative work, but are encouraged to take part in educational activities at the graduate level. Promotion to regular faculty positions will be decided through reviews conducted annually and at the end of the period of appointment.
1. Number of positions and research area:
A special tenure-track position, affiliated with the designated research center, will be offered in the following research area.
