For approximately half of each class period, students will participate in speaking activities from the textbook, and for the other half, related activities that the instructor designs, including written quizzes covering class content. In Sessions 5-8, students will give short 2-3 min presentations on international topics. In Sessions 12-15, students will give performances in 3- or 4-member groups for 4-6 min. The performances can be in such forms as skits, songs, or pre-recorded videos. In Session 16, students will meet with the instructor in 2- or 3-member groups for 5 min at designated times during the session.
