概要 Brief Description |
Students will read the book, 'Tuesdays with Morrie'. The focus in this class will not only be on the content but also on the reading style. Students will identify what they think are important parts of the text they read. They will then share their ideas with their peers. This will help them learn the various styles in which the same text can be read. |
目的・目標 Objectives and Goals
15 Core Competencies for General Education | The aim of this course is for students to develop a strategic approach to reading, so that they learn to view reading as a pleasure activity rather than a translation exercise. Reading for pleasure means they will not only enjoy reading the contents of the book but will also be able to relate it to their own lives and as a result develop critical reading/thinking skills. |
