概要
Brief Description
The focus of this course is on the development of communication skills so that the students are able to communicate with confidence which means expressing yourself accurately, fluently and appropriately(speaking). Students will learn how to use English in real life situations not only via text (reading) but also by viewing movies and listening to songs(listening) and doing writing tasks(writing).

授業計画・授業内容
Course Plans and Contents
Classes will focus on a range of topics to help practice communication skills. Every class will have individual speakers who will come up and speak in front of the class. Topic for the speech will be decided by the students beforehand. Every month students will be expected to see 2 movies and share their comments or ideas in class. A new song will be introduced in every class and students will be expected to read the lyrics as the song plays. Students will also be expected to get a news item and discuss the news as pair work.

The class will be limited to 25 qualifying students who are required to provide evidence of one of the followingin order to take the class: TOEIC 550

Remarks
Any student arriving more than 30 minutes late will be marked absent. Any student absent more than 3 times will be graded "F (0 to 59)". Authorized absence requires submission of an "Absence Permission Slip" (Koketsu Todoke) issued by the appropriate department.
