| 概要 Brief Description |
「バイリンガル」と聞いたとき、何を想像するだろうか。本授業では、言語学習とバイリンガル教育に関して基本的な知識を得るだけでなく、学生自らの言語学習の経験を振り返りながら、我々がどのように言語を習得するのか、どのような要素や要因が影響するのか、また「バイリンガル」とは何か等を考察していく。取り扱うテーマは、言語習得と学習、米国やカナダを中心とした海外における様々な英語教育やバイリンガル教育の形式、また日本における「バイリンガル」や「英語」あるいはそれに関わる「教育」の政治的位置づけなどが含まれる。授業では、講義やディスカッションの他、学期を通して協働プロジェクトを行う。 The goal of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of language learning and bilingual education. First, students will be introduced to theories and practices of language acquisition, language learning, English education, bilingualism and bilingual education, particularly in the US and Canada. Through discussions and projects, students will examine the status quo of language education, language ideologies, and English politics in Japan. Along with learning the basic concepts, all students will collaboratively undertake a semester-long project about the topic they decide to study. |

ディスカッション、グループワーク、プレゼンテーションなどアクティブラーニングの手法を用いながら、参加者同士が積極的にコミュニケーションを行う共同(協働)学習を展開する。 各回ごとに、１〜２時間で完了する程度のリーディングあるいはミニペーパーなどの宿題が出る。＊授業の進行具合によってトピックの変更の可能性有り ＊授業の進行具合によってトピックの変更の可能性有り This class uses a collaborative, student-centered, active learning method.
