| 概要 Brief Description |
グローバル化とは何か。グローバル化と呼ばれる現象に基づく社会的変化とは何か。本授業では「グローバル化」を中心的な課題に据え、政治、経済、文化、教育や社会運動などの様々な側面がどのように変動しているのかを社会学的に考察する。また、購読資料、ディスカッション、グループプロジェクトを通して、グローバル化に関する概念や理論を学び分析的な知識と視座を身につけ、「グローバル化とは何か」について学生が自ら回答できるようになることを目指す。 What is globalization? What are social changes rooted in the phenomena called globalization? This class explores how various dimensions of society―politics, economy, culture, education, and social movements--have been transformed under the phenomenon on globalization from a sociological perspective. By the series of readings, dscussion and class activities, stuents will learn concepts and theories on globalization, acquire analytical knowledge and lens to observe their daily life from a wider perspective, and be able to answer the question on “What is globalization?” in their own ways. |

| 目的・目標 Objectives and Goals 15 Core Competencies for General Education | 「ジャパニーズ・スタディーズ」は「日本」という事例を通して、「世界」を学ぶという目的を持った科目です。日本についての基礎知識を学ぶだけでなく、自らの体験、自らの文化と照らし合わせて日本を見つめ直すことによって、様々な事象についての新しい視点、より深い気づきを得られることを目指しています。 The aim of courses categorized under the rubric "Japanese Studies" is to teach about the world, using Japan as a case-study. In Japanese Studies courses we do not just provide students with foundational knowledge about Japanese culture and society, but we also offer an environment that allows students to reconsider their image of Japan by reflecting on their own experiences and cultures, and to acquire new perspectives and a deeper awareness of a variety of global phenomena. |

| 評価方法・基準 Evaluation Procedures and Criteria |
評価方法は以下の基準に基づく： 1. 出席：10%（3回以上欠席した場合は不可とみなす） 2. 授業のアクティビティへの参加：40% 3.ミニプレゼン：20% 4.最終グループプレゼン: 30% ＊初回授業にてそれぞれの評価方法の詳細を説明する。 The grading criteria of this course is as follows: 1. Attendance: 10% (You will fail this course if you miss 3 classes and more) 2. Class participation: 40% 3. In-class short presentations: 20% 4. Final group presentation: 30% * The details of each grading criteria will be explained by the instructor on the first day of class. |
