概要
Brief Description		 英国の公的な国際文化交流機関であるブリティッシュ・カウンシル（＊）により実施される授業です。受講者自身の興味や生活に関連したトピックをベースに「話す・聞く・読む・書く」の４つのスキルを学びます。
＊「ブリティッシュ・カウンシル」は、日本で25年以上にわたり、教育機関・企業・団体向けに質の高いコミュニケーション英語コースやアカデミックスキルコースなどの英語教育プログラムを提供している団体です。講師は、英語を外国語として教える国際資格を持ち、平均10年以上の英語教育経験を持つネイティブスピーカーです。
The British Council is in charge of operating this class, which is aimed at developing skills in English: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. It is noted, however, that a special focus is placed on oral communication in English.
目的・目標
Objectives and Goals

15 Core Competencies for General Education		 英語でのコミュニケーション能力と、英語を使う自信を身に付けることを目的とします。状況に応じた的確な表現を身に付け、英語での発信力向上を目指します。
The goal of this class is to encourage students to communicate effectively in English. Lessons will be student-oriented and the instructor will make efforts to ensure that the students become confident of using the language they are learning.

効果的な英語コミュニケーション力向上のため、授業への出席は必須です。
Active participation in all sessions is strongly recommended, which will effectively improve your communicative skills.

　大学院生が履修する場合は、所定の期間に科目等履修生の手続きが必要です。この手続きを行っていない場合は、イングリッシュコミュニケーションの授業を履修することができません。
[Note]
Post graduate students are required to register for "Credit auditor" （科目等履修生- Kamokuto rishusei in Japanese)in order to take this class as this class is basically for Under graduate students. Notice that you will not be able to attend this class without registration for the credit auditor.
備考
Remarks		 ・応募者多数の場合は、抽選を行いますので、必ずしも希望どおりに受講できるとは限りません。
・本科目は、授業内で様々なトピックに関するディスカッションを英語で行い、授業時間数を重ねることでコミュニケーション能力を高めるという目的があるため、同一名称科目を重複履修することができます。
・If there are too many applications for English Communication Class, some sort of screening will be made to fix the number of students in each class.
・Considering that the purpose of English Communication is to enhance communicative skills among students, there is no restriction as to the class selection: students can repeatedly take classes of the same category.
