"Academic Link" is an educational concept at Chiba University created by University Library, the Institute of Media and Information Technology (Current: the Institute of Management and Information Technologies), and the Center for General Education (Current: Center for the Promotion of Higher Education) in order to nurture students and graduate students with abilities to select, process, and utilize knowledge for their long-life learning. Academic Link Center was established on April 1, 2011, as an organization to conduct research and development being necessitated to realize and to promote this concept.
This center consists of "Digital Scholarship Department", "Advanced Learning Support Department", "Research Commons Department", and "Professional Staff Development for Educational and Learning Support Department" (This Department was selected as Joint Usage / Education Center, by the Ministry of Education, Sports, Culture, Science and Technology). We strive to realize the active learning of students by creating and providing digital content suitable for their learning, and proceed with the Academic Link Professional Staff development program for educational and learning support (ALPS program).
