On April 24, 2025, H.E. Mr. Cesar Montaño, Ambassador of Ecuador to Japan, visited Chiba University and gave a lecture on the natural environment, industry, and culture of Ecuador.
Japan Association for Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (JAPOLAC) and Chiba University worked together to coordinate the lectures by diplomats at embassies of Latin American and Caribbean countries as part of the course, “Introduction to Latin American and Caribbean Countries with Lectures from Diplomats.”
This year, we have invited ambassadors from three Latin American countries to give lectures, with the Republic of Ecuador being the first country.
By receiving lectures directly from the current ambassadors to Japan, students are given the opportunity to learn about life and policies in Latin American countries, as well as the role of diplomats, their duties, and their realities.
During the Q&A session, students asked the ambassador many questions, showing their high level of interest in Latin American countries.
