On March 18th 2025, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Suvit Sasetia, President of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, a partner institution of Chiba University, and the delegation visited  Nishi-Chiba campus, where they had discussions with President Koutaro Yokote, Executive Vice President Hiroaki Ozawa, and other relevant faculty and staff of Chiba University.

King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi is one of Thailand's leading engineering universities, which signed an inter-departmental exchange agreement with the Faculty of Horticulture in 2004, followed by an inter-university leveled exchange agreement in 2013, leading to active exchanges such as collaborative research and workshops. In 2024, as Japan-Thailand's first social design collaborative research institute, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi will jointly establish the Social Design Institute (SDI) at Knowledge Xchange for Innovation (KX) located in central Bangkok, aiming to address various societal challenges through the collective efforts of various experts. On this visit, discussions were held on further development of exchanges between the two universities. Taking this opportunity, we will further strengthen our collaboration with King Mongkut's University of Technology and promote ongoing exchange activities.
